- The Staff's decisions are law. We will never purposefully decree a ruling that will harm anyone's characters in any way, or prohibit them from progressing in some way (Unless otherwise discussed previously for the sake of a site plot). We are here to have fun and to make this site fun for you, the writers, but we also need to know that you will listen to what we have to say, and heed our rules since we spent so much time creating this site for you.
If there is an extreme issue with a ruling or a newly posted thread from the Staff, feel free to message Cupcake, she will take the time to listen to your opinions and will take them under consideration before making her final decision. - Mommying and Daddying is forbidden. Mommying and Daddying is when you go to one Staff member and ask for something, only to be told no to which you then move on to the next Staff member and attempt to get them to say yes, despite what the first Staff member said.
The Staff will never usurp one another, we are a team and we back one another 100%. If we find that someone has been Mommying and Daddying, they will be banned, no questions asked.
Don't do it, it isn't worth it. - Drama Llamas are
shotbanned on sight. The Drama Llama is a species of person who lives to instigate fights, whether with another member or between other members, just for the sake of their own amusement and to bring the site down.
We do not tolerate this species, and thus we will be quick to ban anyone who even seems as if they may be leaning towards becoming a Drama Llama.
Keep your OOC drama to instant messengers off and away from our site. - Harassment of any kind will get you banned. We won't waste our time listing the different types of harassment. If you don't know, then you shouldn't be on this site. If we find out that any of our members are harassing other members or guests of the site, they will be banned, permanently, no second chances.
Poking, prodding, and begging another member to post or to have their character get into a relationship with one of your characters is considered harassment on our site and will result in a warning following an immediate ban if it is continued. Playfully joking around is one thing, being excessive about it is annoying and rude. - Profanity is accepted, but should not be excessive. Meaning...you may curse and use some crude language in posts, but don't over do it. If we find that you have been excessively cursing or being crude, we will first edit your posts to delete the words and use ones that we find to our liking. If the words are changed back, or the next post is just as bad, we will remove the post and deduct the point for it, forcing you to post again. If still you have not curbed the amount of profanity or crude language, your posting will be put on quarantine which will then require a member of the Administration to proof read each and every post you make and accept it before it will be posted.
- Staff reserve the right to drop in on your threads. Why? Because we can. We are story tellers and game masters. What good is a story teller who doesn't find fun, creative, dramatic obstacles for their members' characters to overcome? A game master that doesn't upturn the lives of the players in their game shouldn't be considered a master.
That being said, sometimes we will give you warning of our impending decent on your thread (generally with an NPC of our choosing) via a red font Admin Note at the bottom of your previous post, other times we'll spring it out of the blue to shake up the monotony. Just because you put -Closed- in the title of your thread does not mean you are safe.
This is meant to be a fun obstacle for characters and is in no way meant to be an attack on the writer(s).
So keep your eyes open...you never know when we are going to pounce! - OOC Accounts are Mandatory. When joining our site you must first make your OOC or Main Account. The name of your OOC Account should be whatever name you chose for the cbox as that is what we will know you as. The OOC Account is what you will be posting all of your applications on, and where you will be receiving any PMs from Staff about your applications.
Once creating your OOC Account, you may then create your character accounts. It is not mandatory to link them, but it makes life a lot easier on you if you do.
To link your character account to your OOC account, the only way to do this is to click the 'Switch Account' button on the little settings bar on the bottom right hand corner of the site. That will lead you to another page where proboards will explain what else you must do.
If you are having trouble finding the settings tab or figuring out how to set up your character account so that it is linked, please feel free to contact a member of the Staff, we will gladly walk you through the steps via a messenger. - Advertising is strictly prohibited anywhere but in the Advertising board. If we find out that any member is advertising their own site or another site, member stealing, or giving a link of a another site to a guest in the cbox, that member will be banned immediately and permanently, reported to proboards, and their site will also be reported.
If you want to advertise your site, or another site, please do so in the Advertising and Affiliates board like everyone else. You are welcome to there, but nowhere else. - Guilty Misdemeanors is 'PG-13'.
The definition of 'PG-13' as described by the Motion Picture Association of America, or MPAA, is as follows:
Such films may contain moderate to strong violence, some suggestive material and nudity, some sexual situations, brief strong language and/or soft drug use.
Though we push the boundaries at times, we prefer that if you are going to post anything majorly past the 'PG-13' rating, that you fade to black on our site, and take it to either PM or preferably an outside messenger.
We realize that people enjoying reading and writing these types of scenes, but we don't wish to break Proboards ToS, so please respect the rating. - 16 + Only. Yes, we understand that 'PG-13' means that with parental guidance a 13 year old may write on our site. No, we don't want a 13 year old and their parent(s) on our site. No offense, but the vast majority of us are far past needing parental supervision, nor do we wish to have to deal with a parent complaining if something is darker than they would like their child to be involved in. No, we will not curb our writing to make your parent(s) happy.
If we find out you are under 16, you will be banned, end of story.
The Staff of Guilty Misdemeanors reserves the right to alter, change, remove, and/or add to the rules at any point in time. We will always inform the site via PM or Update thread of any changes, failure to know these changes is not an option.
